Hi,

as previously pointed out we have the following problem:

--
we need to export on a PDF file a logo-image usually printed on documents, but quality results very bad comparing with the original print.

Our image is a .jpg file but it's the same with .bmp and .gif etc..
Nothing changes varying the dpi parameter or decreasing image file compression.
---

This matter is very important for our application so we need to know if you think you could solve this bug and when.
We hope to get a very urgent reply.

Regards.

For the best quality, use a JPG gile, at the right size.
The decrease of quality is due to the internal resize of the picture wich seems not to be perfect.
Try this and let me know

We tried to fix our jpg as you suggested but the quality remains poor.
This jpg is a logo in a document and it contains both a pic and small characters;
the written part is almost impossible to be read.
Any idea?

I'll second a request for this to get fixed. Even though it prints to a printer just fine, and to Adobe just fine, the PDF output from the control itself produces bad image qualities. That leads me to believe that it's not from the internal resize (because it prints to printers great), but from something about how it's embedded in the PDF. Almost like the compression is way too high for the image, regardless of what the compression value is set to in my program.

Thanks Thierry...of course as developers, I'm sure we all understand how hard some of this stuff is to track down and fix. I appreciate the effort!

Have you tried to set at 100 the Compression (=no compression).

I have tried a new compression routine, but the quality is not improved as much as I wanted, and it only works under XP (not Win98, 2000)

If someone has a good code to save BMP, Gif... to JP, I am interessed

Thierry

I continue investigating.

But I am not familiar with the image compression processing.

Me neither. How do you properly compress an image?
