Method DrawLine

Action:

This method draws a line element in the current frame of the actual page with the default linewidth setting of 20 twips.

Syntax :

DrawLine (vXpos1 As Variant, vYpos1 As Variant, vXpos2 As Variant, vYpos2 As Variant, cLineBox As Constant) As String

Parameter Description
  • vXpos1 Horizontal position of line start
  • vYpos1 Vertical position of line start
  • vXpos2 Horizontal position of line end
  • vYpos2 Vertical position of line end
  • cLineBox Indicator for line or rectangle and is optional
The cLineBox parameter can contain the following values or represented by the constants:

    Constant Value Description

  • prLBLine 0 Draw a line
  • prLBBox 1 Draw an empty rectangle
  • prLBBoxFill 2 Draw a filled rectangle
    Remarks:

This method draws a line element in the current frame. When the line is drawn, the values of the current style are used to determine line width, color and fill

The vXpos1, vYpos1, vXpos2 and vYpos2 parameters may either be numbers, which are taken to be values in twips, or a string see example below). If a parameter is specified as a string then it is converted to twips using the CTwips function.

After the completion of the method the values of CurrentX and CurrentY are set to vXpos2 and vYpos2.

If prLBBox or prLBBoxFill is used then vXpos1 and vYpos1 are the topleft corner and vXpos2 and vYpos2 the bottomright corner.

If prlBBoxFill is used the don't forget to set FillStyle.
Preview.Fillstyle = 0 results that the box is filled with the fill color.

    Examples:

To draw a straight horizontal line:

    Preview.DrawLine "2.0 in", "3.0 in", "5.0 in","3.0 in"
    or

    Preview.DrawLine "2.0 in", "3.0 in", "5.0 in","3.0 in", prLBLine
    To draw a cursive line:

    Preview.DrawLine "2.0 in", "3.0 in", "5.0 in","5.0 in"
    or

    Preview.DrawLine "2.0 in", "3.0 in", "5.0 in","5.0 in", prLBLine
