When I try to import a BMP or JPG (I've used both drawpicture and drawpicturememory), it looks great on the preview and when printed to a printer. But when I send it to a PDF file, the image quality is TERRIBLE.

Is there a way to adjust the graphics quality to an output PDF?

It will be in the next one.
Bill has found a final small memory leak, that I have fixed.
All should be released next week.

NB : I still have an help file to verify.

What version will this feature be released in.

It is only for PDF? :-(

I guess your using different compression routines for different outputs. Is there anything you can do for JPG quality?

When I print a JPG or BMP image of something with text, the direct print is perfect, but the image in the PDF looks rough and "jagged". The images look like they're being resampled in the PDF file. At what resolution does the image get saved in the PDF? Can this be user adjustible?

The compression artifacts are now gone, though. :)

But I just noticed that if I try to resize an image more than a certain amount, VB crashes with a "memory could not be 'read'" error. I'll send you an example.

By the way, the drawarc works fantastic now!

Thanks for all your hard work - it's definitely appreciated! I love this preview control...

Thats great Thierry!

Can you send it to me, too?

markb Posted - 09/16/2004 : 14:45:25
Hello Thierry,
Great!!! Can you send it to me? With the settings info?

Waty Thierry Posted - 09/16/2004 : 13:34:39
I have just added a new property : "PDFCompression"
You can choose between 0 and 99 for the quality compression.

The higher you set (99), the best quality and less compression you have.

I will add a possibility to specify yourself the compression of the pictures.

That's strange - the quality for me was MUCH worse than before. I also noticed that the PDF files were about half the size that they were before. So, at least in the one I got, it seems like the compression went UP.

Hello wbgookin,
The quality is much better but the image has bits missing? I will post an image for Thierry to see. Very strange....

Did you find that this new version helped the quality?

Yes, this is normal
